Sadly, due to a projected two year building project right next door, the ambience of the Silver Shop, and possible access for traffic, was to be seriously affected. So it is a good time for Cass to take some time off to enjoy her young son Jack who is now walking. Also Genie has just had twins (Lazlo and Ginger who are still in humidy cribs in Flinders Medical Centre but doing well) and won't have time for shoemaking for a while.

So the actual doors closed on the 24th December, 2007

The Silver Shop has had a few different locations in it's time, starting out in the early eighties in the Old Clarendon Winery, then the East End Market and then it's last location on Hindmarsh Square.

It is highly probable that the Silver Shop will rise again in another location, some time in the future.

Our thanks go to all the jewellers who have contributed their wonderful work over the years and to all the people who have come into the shop to buy from the always changing array of treasures.
